What are the hours of City Hall?

Monday through Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  City Hall is located at 305 Main Street. Officials can be reached at 712-657-2634.

When and where are city council meetings held?

City council meetings are the first and third Mondays of each month, beginning at 7:00 p.m. They are held in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.


What day is City garbage picked up?

All residents living west of the Sauk Trail and those living around the lake will have their garbage picked up on Mondays.  Residents living east of the trail and in the Lakewood and Crescent Park areas will have garbage collection on Tuesdays.


What day is City recycle picked up?

All of the town’s items for recycling is picked up on Mondays. 


What are the hours of operation for the Library?

The Lake View Public Library is located at 202 Main Street.  The phone number is 712-657-2310.  The following are the hours for the library:

Monday: 10:00 a.m. to noon and 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Tuesday: 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Wednesday: 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Thursday: 2 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Friday: 2 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Saturday: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Sunday: Closed

When is Black Hawk Lake Summer Water Carnival?

When does Camp Crescent campground open?

April 15


Who do I contact to make reservations for Camp Crescent campground? 

During the camping season, April 15 to the end of October, phone ( 712) 657-2819.  From November through April 14, phone (712) 657-2634.


What lodging is available?


What is the cost of renting the Centennial Shelter House at Speaker Park?

Monday – Thursday: $15 for ½ the shelter, $30 for the entire building

Friday-Sunday and Holidays: $30 for ½ the shelter, $50 for the entire building

Are there other shelter houses available?

Shelter houses at Denison Beach and 30 Acres are also available for reservation by contacting the DNR at 712-657-8712 or www.iowadnr.com


What buildings in the area available to hold events?

The Eilbert Auen Legion Hall is located at 310 Main Street and will accommodate 100-150 people.  The facility has a kitchen, bathroom, heating and air conditioning and rents for $50 per day.  Contact Robert Nansteel at 712-657-3388 for more information.


When is the Lake View Historical Museum open?

The Museum is located at 114 Crescent Park Drive and is open weekends from Memorial Day through Labor Day from 2-4 PM.  If you would like to visit the museum at a time other than listed above, contact Mardell Schade at 712-657-5847.  The museum phone number is 712-657-8010.
